Don’t put the cart before the horse!

What does the expression even mean, ‘put the cart before the horse’?  Think of the old horse and buggy.  The horse needs to be in front to pull the cart(buggy) down the road.  Putting the cart in front of the horse simply wouldn’t get you anywhere.

In practice, the expression means that we should not get ahead of ourselves.  Much easier said than done i know.  Still we need to remind ourselves of this.  Life is complicated and most things need to take place one thing at a time, in order.  We need to have the patience and focus to handle what is in front of us and not fight the battles of what might be coming down the road.  You will likely find that you are wasting your time worried about events that never come or aren’t nearly as bad as they seem.

Never stop believing in yourself.  Talk to you soon 🙂
