My Personal 7 Week Challenge- Week 1

Last week, a co-worker challenged me to a weight loss challenge for the next 7 weeks.  We weighed in on Monday and the race was on!  The final weigh-in and winner announcement will be on Saturday 3/31/18.  I planned to go with the, ‘I’ll exercise and eat better mentality.  I was good for the first 2 days and ten it all went off the rails.  After beer, chinese food, ice cream, and whatever else I could find, I am even with where I started.   Talk about a huge loss for week one!

This week, however, will be much different.  I planned out my week with everything from exercise time to meal plans.  You see, what he doesn’t know is that I have been down this road before.  In a big way as a matter of fact!  I had lost 100 pounds in the past with my own diet and I know just what it takes for my body to lose weight and get fit.  In fact, I wrote my own book on weight loss book on my findings and suggested plan.  I have since taken it down once I gained most of the weight back.  No one wants to(or should) follow a 300 pound weight loss Guru!

Ding, Ding!  Round 2!  Just because you had a small failure or were slow to get out of the gate doesn’t mean that you can’t give it 100% to come back and win!  You just need to accept the reality, come up with a new plan, and smile the whole way as you pass by the competition.  If it’s done right, you’ll leave them saying, “What the fuck just happened??”.

  2. You can do this! I look forward to seeing your results! No pressure, though. Any weight that comes off is a triumph. Hell, I’ve been struggling with the same 20 extra pounds for I don’t know how many years now. It may not sound like much but it’s been enough to keep me feeling crappy about myself for years, so thanks for the inspiration. If you can do it I can do it.

  3. I think two things: (1) think one day at the time (2) don’t think you are “on a diet”, thinkyou are starting a new and better life. I know it’s hard, cause I love chocolate myself… but as you said “take the driver seat”
