Sometimes things have a funny way of working out!
Only a couple of months after my divorce I was introduced to an incredible woman. Her name is Kareen. When I met her, she was going through a divorce as well. We spoke all night on the phone the first time we spoke and committed to meeting just a few days later. It just felt right and things moved really fast. We had our first kiss and I asked her to be my girlfriend all on the first date.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing. We had the worry of meeting each other’s children, the stress of 2 divorces, and learned to adapt to living together. Luckily, I feel just as strong that she is the one for me as i felt in the beggining.
This past Monday, I decided it was time to take the relationship to the next level. We went to the new house to show the kids for the first time. My daughter violet snuck away and locked herself in the bathroom. I asked her to write ‘Will you Marry Me? on the bathroom mirror. She was more creative and did an amazing job. She added the touch of screaming that she saw a spider to make Kareen run to her.
Kareen was confused when she got to the bathroom. Violet smiled and pointed to the mirror. I played our song and when Kareen turned around, I dropped to my knee and asked her to marry me. The rest, as they say, is history! She is just as proud to be the future Mrs. Sims!!
Never stop believing in yourself! Talk to you tomorrow 🙂
